The Brief

ADS, the premier trade organisation representing the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, approached us to create their 2025 brand film. As the voice of Britain’s aviation, defence manufacturing, and space technology industries, ADS supports over 1,400 member organisations who contribute £37bn to the UK economy. They needed a film that would:

  • Showcase their continued growth and dynamic approach
  • Demonstrate their crucial role at the heart of government, industry and policy
  • Highlight their international partnerships and global influence
  • Premier at their prestigious Annual Dinner in January 2025, with additional use at trade shows and events throughout the year

The challenge? Create a 60-120 second film that would premiere with full audio impact at their Annual Dinner, while also being versatile enough for silent playback at trade shows. The film needed to incorporate footage from multiple member organisations and maintain balanced representation across all sectors – all within a tight three-week timeline.

The Solution

We took immediate creative leadership, developing a fast-paced, dynamic approach that would capture the innovation and excellence across aviation, aerospace manufacturing, defence technology, and space exploration. Our solution included:

  • Crafting a detailed storyboard that balanced traditional industry values with forward-thinking energy
  • Managing the complex process of sourcing and reviewing extensive B-roll footage from member organisations
  • Designing a versatile narrative structure that works both with audio (including carefully placed news soundbites and music) and without sound for trade show environments
  • Developing clean, modern typography and motion graphics that aligned with ADS branding
  • Taking ownership of the entire production process to minimise client workload

The Outcome

We delivered a powerful brand film ahead of schedule that exceeded the client’s expectations. Our hands-on approach meant that ADS could focus on their core activities while we:

  • Reviewed and selected the perfect footage to match our strategic storyboard
  • Maintained clear communication throughout the project
  • Delivered the final edit well before the deadline
