Video: What’s the point?
There’s something we feel we need to get off our chests…
VIDEO DOES NOT SELL
Okay, so sometimes this isn’t quite true (before producers of TV commercials come after us), but in the vast majority of cases, approaching video production from an entirely sales perspective, will not succeed in producing good content.
So what’s the point then?
Video is about telling a story; stories that are told well create an emotional reaction in the viewer. These emotional reactions help nurture brand affinity and recall. This means that WHEN there is an opportunity to sell to this viewer, that sale will be easier to make.
Whatever point you want to make through video, approach it from a storytelling perspective. Do that well and everything else will follow.
